ERC Project COSMOS is Hiring

The ERC ADG project COSMOS (Principal Investigator: Elaine Chew), cosmos.ircam.fr, has moved to the Centre national de la recherche scientifique (CNRS) in Paris, France, where it is hosted at the Sciences et technologies de la musique et du son (STMS) Lab located at the Institut de Recherche et Coordination Acoustique/Musique (IRCAM).

There are currently three open positions in the COSMOS project:

Postdoc in Mathematical and Computational Modeling of Musical Structures
(12 months, renewable up to three years, full time)
cosmos.ircam.fr/?p=558
PhD in Computational Data Science for Musical Structure Discovery
(3 years, full time)
cosmos.ircam.fr/?p=561
Engineer in Audio/Graphics Interface Design and Data Analysis/Visualizationand Data Analysis/Visualization
(12 months; renewable up to 5 years, half time; or renewable up to 2.5 years, full time)
cosmos.ircam.fr/?p=571

The application deadline is 1 September 2019 for all three positions.

To learn more about the COSMOS project, see cosmos.ircam.fr.

The COSMOS project aims to study musical structures as they are created in performance and in cardiac arrhythmia sequences using data science, citizen science, and optimization. As part of the project, we are acquiring a state of the art reproducing concert grand piano.

The STMS lab is a joint research unit (UMR9912) of the CNRS, IRCAM, Sorbonne University, and French Ministry of Culture. The lab is located at IRCAM, which is organizationally part of the Georges Pompidou Centre, and much of its facilities—research labs and music studios—can be found underground, under the Stravinsky fountain.
