The
ERC ADG COSMOS: Computational Shaping and Modeling of Musical Structures project starts 1 June 2019 at the
Centre national de la recherche scientifique (
CNRS) in Paris, France, where it is hosted at the
Sciences et technologies de la musique et du son (
STMS) Lab. The COSMOS project aims to study musical structures as they are created in performance and in cardiac arrhythmia sequences using data science, citizen science, and optimization.
The STMS lab is a joint research unit (UMR9912) of the CNRS, Sorbonne University, French Ministry of Culture, and
Institut de recherche et coordination acoustique/musique (
Ircam). The lab is located at Ircam, which is part of the Georges Pompidou Centre, and much of its facilities can be found underground, under the Stravinsky fountain.
